Spare! #024 - Pimpin' Ain't Geeky (comic for 2010-02-04)
This comic had a lot of things working against it. Not the least being that I had to draw three female characters. They actually worked out pretty decently though, I think. A lot better than I was prepared for. And before anyone starts picking at it, no, none of them are based on anyone. No-one from high school anyway... One does slightly resemble someone I know, but that's just for me, really.
So the big hullaballo truly ended with very little fanfare, to tell the truth. At least, I heard very little about it. A couple of the girls I normally hung out with asked me about it, but other than that, the plan was pretty much a bust. But I guess that's mostly because I didn't seek out more reactions. I don't know exactly what I was expecting, but I suppose I imagined at least a day or so of temporary celebrity. Oh well enlarge penis. Not much else to say here. I really changed up the images for this one, because the original was just so damn elaborate, with it's odd angles and detalis and whatnot. I also decided it would be best not to put Ryan in a straightjacket, because... I dunno. I was also originally going to alter the poses of all three girls for the last panel, but I just don't have the sticktoitiveness to go through that much trouble when a simple copy+paste and eye movement will do the jorb - penis enhancement.

UPDATE (Sunday Feb 04): Yeah, we're good. The ol' wrist was feeling better enough by last night, so as I suspected, this week's Spare! is done and will be posted as soon as I finish typing this update here. Alright. Those flys are trickey

Oh man, I don't know what it is, but Ryan's improvised first panel makes me laugh. The amount of detail in the comic more than makes up for the poor quality of the drawing in my opinion. Just too bad Edwin isn't bending forward in the last panel... Posted by Ryan on February 1, 2010, 00:00 CST
Ever have one of those days where you just can't do anything? Yeah. Seems I have a lot of them, and yesterday just happened to be one. I had to draw Ryan in the first panel like six times (in six different poses/activities) before I gave up and decided to just keep whatever came out next. Luckily, it turned out acceptable.
